Oven Cleaning Does Not Have To Be a Chore
There are many different oven cleaning products available that
promise a nice, clean shine to the surface of almost any oven, no matter
how dirty it may be. These products can be extremely useful when we are
trying to tackle the dirty job of cleaning up old food spills in the
oven.
However, there is a much more healthy way that many individuals
prefer when it comes to oven cleaning. By using every day items that
most of us will have in our kitchen at any time, you will be able to
create a cleaning solution that is not only healthier for you and your
family, but for the environment as well. Many of the oven cleaning
products that are available contain harsh ingredients that can be
harmful to the ozone layer. This has of course become a big concern to
most of us.
Oven Cleaning with Natural Ingredients -
Vinegar and Baking Soda
By simply using three natural ingredients that are easy to find and
very inexpensive, you can quickly create a cleaning solution for the
chore of cleaning your oven. Simply combine one gallon of hot water
straight from the faucet, ½ cup of vinegar, and ¼ cup of baking soda.
You can use this cleaning mixture to clean the greasy spills inside
of your oven, as well as the spots and spills of grease and food on your
stovetop. Adding the baking soda to the cleaning solution not only
assists the cleaning of your dirty stove and oven, but it will also
deodorize the area, leaving it smelling clean and fresh.
Baking Soda for Oven Cleaning
Mixing a few cups of warm water with ¼ cup of baking soda is
sufficient for cleaning the surface of your stovetop. Allow it to sit
for approximately 15 minutes, and then wipe the area clean. This will
leave your stovetop shiny, while removing any yellowed areas on your
stove.
For hard to clean spots in your oven, you can spread a layer of
baking soda onto the surface, then using a spray bottle, spray over the
baking soda enough to dampen the area. When the soda dries, spray more
water to dampen the area again, repeat this step for a few hours if
necessary. You can then wash the area free of the baking soda, using a
wet cloth. h.
This method of oven cleaning will be safe for your family, leaves no
harmful fumes to breathe in and the cloth can be washed with the rest of
your laundry without any damaging chemicals being released into the
water. |
